A day until they re level. The sagging floor was the symptom and somewhere under the house there had to be a cause. You cannot simply put a screw jack under the lowest spot and start turning. Checking joists is easier if you have a basement or crawl space foundation because the joists are exposed.

Well after doing the navy seal crawl up under the house we found that the joists that were supporting that floor were not actually attached to the sill plate any longer as seen in the photograph below. If a crack or sag is isolated to one area the sister joist should extend at least 3 ft. Jacking must proceed slowly. To check joists and diagnose the problem a pro must pull up the flooring and the subfloor to see what shape they re in.

Make repairs to settling piers and weak joists to fix swagging floors and roof lines. If you have access to the basement or crawlspace it is possible to jack up saggy joists until they are level and then sister them so that they remain straight after the jacks are removed.
